Doors, windows and such from France (last year)

Interesting bits and bobs from France - I nearly deleted these off my camera since I assumed I must have uploaded them at some point in the last year - clearly not! I took loads of photos of signs and stuff too, so I might put those put at some point.

The Hunger Games

Pretty much inhaled the whole Hunger Games trilogy this Easter weekend (very good by the way). Better find something else to read for the next set of bank holidays!

Diamond Jubilee

These were designed by kids for a Blue Peter competition for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee logo this year - they're amazing! So colourful and quirky. The top one is the one that won, but I'm in love with that little roaring lion. I was surprised that they didn't get the Olympics logo done by kids too. I used to love drawing things and entering Blue Peter competitions - I'm so glad it still exists :)

Michael Rosen's Sad Book

Books galore!

How amazing is this? I love looking at these huge piles of books - they look pretty daunting - but this one already looks loads better than it did before! It sounds really geeky but I love riffling through all these old books - you find some amazing stuff! I've already found an original souvenir guide to the Queen's coronation, an original set of Paddington books (which I wish I had taken - it was going to be recycled anyway), a really old edition of David Attenborough's Living Planet and some really old school nicely illustrated books on flowers and fossils. I end up coming home with so much stuff that I can't bear to recycle. I end up getting distracted from the job of sorting them sometimes - last week I stood in the room reading a kid's book that was pretty good and then remembered I what I was supposed to be doing when someone else walked past - oops.
